About Me

As long as my memory allows me to remember, I have had an interest in Holdens. Growing up in the early 70's as a young boy in Elizabeth, South Australia, the home of Holden, having anything to do with them was hard to avoid. My father was an employee at GMH for over 18 years and some of my best childhood memories were of GMH employee and Social Club Christmas picnics at the Elizabeth Plant and Tanunda Oval. He always used to bring brochures and posters home too. We never owned an HK-T-G model. We couldnt afford it and family cars were usually FB's & EK's. Following in my fathers footsteps, I too worked at GMH Elizabeth during the VL-VN Commodore production. Back then not much had changed in the factory from when the earlier models were made and I got a great insight into production techniques and how they were made that still assist me today in researching and identifying abnormalities in the 68-71 model run.

I have always admired HK-T-G Holdens and have owned many models. I still use one as a daily driver to this current day and have done so since I was 17 years old. Currently I have a 69 HT Belmont panel van which I use as my daily driver, a Cambridge Blue over Jacana Blue 69 HK Kingswood wagon and a 71 HG Premier sedan 253 auto painted from the factory in Plumdinger, a purple colour that was exclusive to LC XU1 Torana.
